Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 15, 2026
This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Knight Clock ("Application"), a chess timer built for mobile devices, created and developed by IND Tech Mark ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a safe experience using our chess clock.
1. Introduction
Knight Clock is designed as a professional tournament chess timer. The application is built to run 100% offline, ensuring zero connection-based disruptions during match play. We do not personally collect, store, or transmit any of your personal identification data. However, the app displays advertisements served via Google AdMob, which may collect specific device information, details of which are outlined below.
2. Data Collection & Advertising
Data safety is a core priority. The developer does not collect any personal data.
To keep the core game clock free and accessible, Knight Clock integrates Google AdMob SDK. AdMob collects certain device parameters to serve relevant ads (personalized or non-personalized depending on your consent status). This data is sent directly to Google servers and is not processed or stored by us.
What AdMob May Collect:
- Device Identifiers: Mobile Advertising ID (AAID / GAID), IP address, device model, and OS version.
- Approximate Location: Derived from IP addresses to deliver localized ads (e.g., country-level or regional).
- Interaction Information: Impressions, click events, and app usage details associated with served ads.
- Diagnostic Logs: Performance data, crash logs, and load times to monitor system health.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by resetting your Google Advertising ID or managing personalized ad settings directly within your Android device settings.
3. Third-Party Services
The Application uses third-party services that collect information used to identify you. The privacy policies of these third-party service providers specify how they handle your data:
4. Android Permissions Used
To operate correctly on the Android platform, the app requests the following system permissions. No private data is accessed or extracted through these permissions:
5. GDPR & European User Consent
If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), your data privacy rights are protected under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Knight Clock complies with European regulatory standards by utilizing Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK. Upon starting the application for the first time, users in the EEA/UK will be presented with a consent banner allowing them to choose whether to consent to personalized ads, accept only non-personalized ads, or withdraw consent.
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or delete the diagnostic data AdMob collects, or restrict its processing. These preferences can be updated at any time in the app's Settings menu.
6. CCPA/CPRA California Rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents are granted specific rights regarding the collection of their information.
We do not sell your personal data. AdMob may utilize Advertising IDs for personalized advertising. California users may opt out of personalized ads by disabling them in the app settings, using their device setting "Opt Out of Ads Personalization" or opting to restrict processing.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Since we do not collect any user profiles, tournament logs, or personal database records, we do not store personal data. AdMob and Google Play Services manage data retention policies independently in accordance with their standard business disclosures (typically ranging from 30 days for transient logs to 14 months for aggregated reporting).
8. Children\'s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
9. How to Manage Ad Preferences
You can control how Google serves advertisements to your device by adjusting your system configurations:
To reset your Advertising Identifier or Opt Out on Android:
- Open your Android device settings.
- Navigate to Google > Ads (or Privacy > Ads).
- Tap Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID.
- Toggle on Opt out of Ads Personalization (if available on your device version).
